It is easy just to apply it to the scribes and the pharisees, outward rightious but full of wickedness. But you need to see yourself.Do you appear to be a Christian? You honour God with your lips, but what about your heart? Have you ever received Jesus Christ as your saviour and Lord? Paul said "I am crucified with Christ." You need to be born again.

You are in danger of going astray or falling into sin, but the Lord has provided overseers (pastors, elders) in the church, people with the responsibilty of watching out for danger guiding those in danger back to safety.
