Are you ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ and of his word? Are you a disciple all of the time? Jesus Christ is coming again and he will be ashamed of you if you are ashamed of him.

What is the evidence in your life that you really are a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ? You may claim him as your Saviour, but he is only your Saviour if he is also your Lord. A disciple of Jesus is one who takes up his cross daily and follows him, having trusted in him for forgiveness of sin and everlasting life.

After Peter's great confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, we now read that he opposed the Lord. He objected to Christ saying he must suffer and die.

Joseph died in faith, but there is so much to commend his faith through out his life. It will help to appreciate his faith if we look at some of this first. His brothers hated him and they threw him into a pit when he was only 17 years old. But it was not God's plan for Joseph to die in a pit, he was sold into slavery. He remained faithful. Pray that you will have such a faith as Joseph.

It is important to have a faithful version of the Bible. Don't go for easiness! When I first became a Christian I refused to use the King James. Now I use it because I believe it presents a clearer understanding of what God is saying. (excerpt from a longer message)
