Isaiah 53

Wicked hands nailed Jesus to the cross, but it was in the purpose of God. He was bearing the wrath due for his peoples sin.

When Jesus came, the people were waiting for an earthly king who would give them liberation and victory politically. They failed to understand that he had come to give them victory over sin; to reconcile us to God.
