The Ten Virgins

The disciples of Jesus had asked him about when he would come again. The answer he gave continues into Chapter 25 where he uses a picture of a bridegroom coming and it is a similar picture to that in Revelation 22. We are introduced to ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom; you can think of them as ten people in a church. Five have new life in Christ, the other five only look to be Christians. This is all about people who have made a confession of faith and enjoy the blessings of being part of a church. For all that, five of them have not repented and are not trusting in Jesus for forgiveness of their sins.
