The Lord Jesus Christ sent his disciples to do local evangelism. We need to consider what is essential in our work locally.

Who receive the gospel invitation? Those who thirst. What is the gospel invitation? A call to come to Christ and drink.

In different times and places God has raised up mighty soul winning churches. May we have a continual passion for the souls of the lost and may the Lord make us a soul winning church.

"Ye will not come to me." These solemn words come from the lips of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not a physical coming, but a coming in repentance and faith. We are all affected by sin in every part of us and this includes your will. So we need to pray for the Holy Spirit to work in our evangelism.

In the apostolic age, the believers had enthusiasm and a sense of urgency. Ungodly men and women cried out in repentance and faith. Today, the love of many has waxed cold. Ours is a materialistic society. Like the rich fool, we are building bigger. We should be concerned about all the lost people around us rushing to eternity.

No matter how strong the opposition, it is your responsibility to stand up as a Christian and be counted. Cry aloud and spare not. You live amidst a crooked and perverse generation. You are to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

Paul took the opportunity put before him to set before Felix the word of God. Felix was alarmed when the biblical principles were applied to him.
