After praying for his disciples Jesus presented himself to those who had been sent to arrest him. Demonstrations of his divine power and grace followed.

Many take this an example of a little man taking on a giant. However, that is not the main lesson of this passage. It is about Christ in conflict with Satan with Israel representing the church.

The events of one week are very instructive. The Lord Jesus Christ is introduced. His first disciples follow him and he attended a wedding.

Christ prayed for those who would hear and believe the word of his apostles. He prayed for unity, but this is true unity in Christ not a lowest common denominator type of unity. The world needs to hear the truth from us.
