There is a great need to be aware, there are false teachers who seek to lead people astray. What is the answer to this?

That Army officer and the other soldiers who had nailed Jesus to the cross stood before him and watched him die. Surely they saw something of his peace and joy as he died.

Peter wrote because of the danger of false prophets and teachers who seek to infiltrate the churches. Just as there was then, there are still people today who claim to be apostles and prophets. His desire was for his readers to remember and be established in the truth. The Holy Spirit has given us the whole of Scripture; we see much of it fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Christ, and we look for his appearing which is yet to be fulfilled.

In Christ we are new creatures. Peter says that you are to give all diligence to add to your faith.

You are responsible to God because he is the creator and gives you life. We break his good law but he is gracious.
