Our main Sunday services

The pioneer missionary William Carey famously once said "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God". We believe that when we come together in corporate worship, that we should have great expectations. However there is a common view today that public worship is primarily for personal blessing.

GBCP hallIn contrast, when we read the psalms of David we get an over-riding sense of awe and praise.

We get the strong impression that they went up to the temple that the Lord might be glorified and not for any feel-good factor.

At the same time it is not uncommon to feel good when we worship Him as He has commanded - in Spirit and truth - for He honours those who honour Him.

What are the meetings like?

Our main meetings on the Lord's Day are traditional in that they follow an order of service. We believe that the interests of the congregation are best served by having a pattern and for the most part sticking to it. Most of the messages are now recorde digitally and we now have a loop system in place for those hard of hearing. The services are structured into the following:

  • The singing of hymns and psalms, with accompaniment of Keyboard
  • The reading and expounding of the Word of God, the Bible
  • The offering of thanksgivings and petitions to the Lord, in led prayers
  • Church notices and announcements for the week ahead
  • Occasionally there will be times of open prayer and invited personal testimony

The morning service starts at 11:00am and the evening at 6:30pm (Church Hall, Market St, Peel.)

Please feel welcome to join us for worship on the Lords Day.
