Church Building Improvement Fund

Cellphone lights up[09-03-2008] Following a meeting of the church members last year a Works Committee headed up by the diaconate has spearheaded a new church building improvement fund.

This is to develop existing facilities and develop new ones at the church site in Market Street, Peel.

A number of possible plans have been considered and architect drawings obtained of how the finished development might be. Central to the project is the desire to have a new area for children's work including the Sunday School.

The refurbishment of the kitchen area and cloakroom facilities will help to modernise the building and facilitate the growth of our existing work. It was felt this is necessary to ensure a pleasant environment for present and future ministies and to cater for a broader variety of needs.

How we hope to achieve this

In GBCP has consulted other like-minded fellowships who have undertaken similar works in recent years and of course we are drawing on our own experiences from the major refurbishment of 1996 of the main hall area.

Through the Charities Aid Foundation we are getting in touch with various Christian organisations and church groups informing them of our plans. We also welcome donations from Christian friends toward our goal. If you would like more information please contact the deacon responsible.

Expect to see the profile of this project raised during 2008 as Gift Sundays and prayer meetings are convened for the purpose. Please pray for the following:

  • The Works Committee as they manage the project
  • that the Lord might put it into the hearts of His people to support the fund
  • that any resulting building works may be used for the glory of God.
