The Church adheres to and teaches the London Baptist Confession of faith of 1689 (1689 bcf). All candidates for membership shall adhere to the following declaration:-

We believe:

1. The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience. The Holy Scripture contains all the books of the Old and New Testaments. It is to be received because it is the Word of God. 1689 bcf 1.1,1.2,1.4

2. The Lord our God is but one only living and true God, whose subsistence is in and of himself. In this divine and infinite Being there are three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of one substance, power, and eternity, each having the whole divine essence, yet the essence undivided. 1689 bcf 2.1,2.3

3. The Son of God, the second person in the Holy Trinity, is very God and very man, yet one Christ. 1689 bcf 8.2

4. God created man upright and perfect, yet Satan subdued Eve, and Adam wilfully transgressed the law of their creation. Our first parents fell by this sin from their original righteousness and communion with God - and we in them - whereby death came upon all their posterity descending from them by ordinary generation. 1689 bcf 6.1,6.2,6.3

5. The Son of God did, when the fullness of time was complete, take upon Him mans nature, yet without sin; being conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mary. The Lord Jesus underwent the punishment due to us, which we should have born and suffered, was crucified, and died, and remained in the state of the dead, yet saw no corruption. On the third day, He arose from the dead with the same body in which He suffered, with which He also ascended into heaven, and there sits at the right hand of His Father making intercession. 1689 bcf 8.2,8.4

6. Those whom God effectually calls, he also freely justifies by imputing Christ's active obedience unto the whole law and passive obedience in his death for their whole and sole righteousness by faith. 1689 bcf 11.1

7. For men who are dead in trespasses to be born again, quickened, or regenerated, there is necessary an effectual work of the Holy Spirit, without which no other means will effect their conversion unto God. 1689 bcf 20.4

8. At the last day, all the dead shall be raised up. The bodies of the unjust shall, by the power of Christ, be raised to dishonour; the bodies of the just, by his Spirit, unto honour, and be made conformable to his own glorious body. 1689 BCF 31.2,31.3

9. Jesus Christ shall return to judge men at the end of the world. Then shall the righteous go into everlasting life in the presence of the Lord; but the wicked shall be cast aside into everlasting torments. 1689 bcf 8.4,32.1,32.2

10. The Lord Jesus calls out of the world unto himself, through the ministry of his word, by his Spirit, those that are given unto him by his Father, that they may walk before him in all the ways of obedience, which he prescribes to them in his word. These saints visibly manifest and evidence (in and by their profession and walking) their obedience unto that call of Christ. 1689 BCF 26.5,26.6
